CLASS DESCRIPTION
As part of Liam’s continuing haircutting series, Shear Education, Current Basics is a course focusing on classic and modern haircutting styles and basics. It will provide all students with a core foundation in important hair trends that are necessary for all stylists to be able to deliver to a wide range of salon clients. This is a haircutting class for stylists only. To take the class, you must have some experience in the field. All levels of stylists are welcome, including current students at other institutions. It is a hands-on class that will be touching on such topics as: sectioning, combing, head position, body position and much more. In this class, you will not only learn how to improve some basic, classic techniques, but also how to make them your own. We will be doing 3 different haircuts:
- long faux,
- 1 length-textured
- blunt bob / the not-so-basic pixie.
Liam will be doing a demo on a live model and each student will be using 2 doll heads that they can take home with them after class.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Liam Carey is owner of Broome & Beauty salon in Soho and co-founder of LMC Academy. Although LMC Academy is a new venture for him, his background as a stylist and educator goes beyond 16 years and includes working at some of San Francisco and New York City’s top salons, including working as a stylist and head of education at Ted Gibson and Serge Normant.
